After obtaining the Postgraduate Specialisation Diploma in Archaeological Heritage in 2012 from the School of Specialisation in Archaeological Heritage at Alma Mater Studiorum-University of Bologna, and a PhD in History of the Arts in 2016 from the Inter-University Doctoral School of Ca' Foscari University of Venice, she was a Research Fellow at the Department of Cultural Heritage, Alma Mater Studiorum-University of Bologna, from 2020 to 2026. She is currently an Adjunct Professor at the same department, where she teaches the courses Multimedia Technologies in Archaeology in the Master's Degree Programme in History, preservation and enhancement of artistic and archaeological heritage and landscape, and Documenting and Communicating Archaeology in the Master's Degree Programme in Archaeological and bioarchaeological sciences in terrestrial and maritime environments for the academic year 2026-2027.
Since April 2017, she has been Honorary Fellow (Cultore della Materia) in Phoenician and Punic Archaeology (L-OR/06) at the Department of Cultural Heritage, University of Bologna. In December 2023, she obtained the Italian National Scientific Qualification (Abilitazione Scientifica Nazionale, ASN) for the position of Associate Professor in SC 10/N1 – Cultures of the ancient Near East, the Middle East and Africa.
She is the editor of the website of the P.A.S.T. Laboratory. Public Archaeology and Social Transmission, Department of Cultural Heritage, University of Bologna.
Since June 2023, she has been certified as an UAS Pilot (A1-A3 categories) and, since March 2026, she has been working as a professional archaeologist.
Archaeological Fieldwork and Participation in Projects and Research Teams
Since 2018, she has been a member of the University of Bologna research teams conducting archaeological investigations at the Sa Codriola isthmus and in the area east of the cardo maximus at Tharros (OR, Sardinia) (scientific direction of Prof. A.C. Fariselli), as the Responsible of the sector on the field and of the topographic documentation.
Since 2019, she has been a member of the University of Bologna research team conducting archaeological investigations at the Sarcapos site (CA, Sardinia) (scientific direction of Prof. R. Secci), as the Responsible of the sector on the field and topographic documentation.
From 2012 to 2019, she was a member of the University of Bologna archaeological mission at the southern necropolis of Capo San Marco at the Tharros site (OR, Sardinia) (scientific direction of Prof. A.C. Fariselli), as the Responsible of the sector on the field and topographic documentation.
From 2010 to 2012, she was a member of the University of Bologna archaeological mission at the northern necropolis of San Giovanni di Sinis of Tharros (OR, Sardinia), in the excavation sector so-called "cupola", directed by Prof. A.C. Fariselli (University of Bologna) (in partnership with the University of Cagliari (directed by Prof. C. Del Vais), the ministry concessionaire for the excavation), as the Responsible of topographic documentation.
As a Research Fellow, she served as Participant in the PRIN2017 research project “1000 Ancient Italian Genomes: Evidence from Ancient Biomolecules for Unravelling Past Human Population Dynamics (AGED)” of the University of Florence (Scientific Coordinator: D. Caramelli), within the research unit of Alma Mater Studiorum – University of Bologna (Head of the Research Unit: D. Luiselli).
Since 2011, she has been working as a professional archaeologist on preventive and rescue archaeology projects in Emilia-Romagna and Piedmont, carrying out archaeological watching briefs, stratigraphic excavation, manual and instrumental surveying, and digital archaeological documentation. During her academic training, she participated in archaeological research and excavation projects in Italy (Emilia-Romagna, Marche, Tuscany, and Apulia), Egypt (Bakchias and Soknopaiou Nesos), and Croatia (Burnum).
