Curriculum vitae

Matteo Minelli is associate professor at the Department of Civil, Chemical, Environmental and Materials Engineering (DICAM) at the University of Bologna, working at the experimental characterization and modeling of the thermodynamic and mass transport properties in polymeric systems. He is co-author of more than 120 publications in international journals and over 100 contributions to international conferences.

He graduated at the University of Bologna (AY 2003/2004) cum laude at the School of Chemical Engineering with the thesis "Gas barrier properties in hybrid organic/inorganic coating on polymer films for food packaging".

Ph.D. at the graduate school of Chemical, Environmental and Safety Engineering at University of Bologna with the thesis "Characterization and modeling of the barrier properties in nanostructured systems" in 2009.

Post-doctoral fellow at the Department of Chemical, Mining and Environmental Engineering (DICMA) at the University of Bologna (2009-2011) and research assistant at the Interdepartmental Centre for Industrial Research-Advanced Mechanics and Materials (CIRI-MAM) at the University of Bologna, in the research unit Advanced materials, design and photonic applications from 2011 until 2013.

Assistant professor from 2013 to 2018 at the Department of Civil, Chemical, Enviromental and Materials Engineering of the University of Bologna.

He is currently teaching several courses in the degree of both Chemical and Enviromental Engineering at the University of Bologna at the bachelor and master degree, in the field of Fluid mechanics and transport phenomena.

He is the co-PI for GEA project (national PRIN 2022), CO2 EPOC (Norvegian Research Council) and WP leader for ECCSELLENT project (PNRR - research infrastrutture). He participated to several national and international reaserch project, such as, among the others PRIN, SUSTAINPACK (FP6 European project),  VIGONI (Italy-Germany bilateral programme), BIOMATPACK (Cost Action), NEWGENPAK (Marie Curie ITN) e EcoPackLab (PORFESR).

He has been visiting research scholar et athe Department of Fibre and polymer technology - Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in Stockholm (Sweeden) in 2005, at the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering - Rice University in Houston, TX (USA) from 2006 to 2007, and at the Centre for Biomaterial Development - HZG in Berlin (Germany) in 2010.

He is referee for various international journals in Membrane science, Chemical Engineering, and in the field of polymer science and technology. He is a member of the Editorial Board of Polymer Testing and of the journal Polymers.
