Short Bio

I hold a PhD in Physics from the University of Bologna (2014) and worked at CERN from 2012 to 2016. I am now Associate Professor at Unibo and member of the ATLAS collaboration, focusing on top-quark and Higgs measurements as well as BSM searches, including heavy neutrinos and vector-like leptons. I’ve developed reconstruction algorithms for boosted topologies and muonic hadronic decays. Since 2025, I lead the Bologna unit of the QUART&T project on quantum computing, working on superconducting qubit demonstrators and the QUnfold tool for quantum annealing. I also work on machine learning and HPC applications, co-authoring FastCaloGANtainer for fast calorimeter simulation and developing deep-learning models for jet tagging and anomaly detection. In the FOOT experiment, I contribute to nuclear fragmentation studies for hadron therapy and space radiation protection, implementing Kalman-based tracking and data analysis.
