1. Analysis of phosphoinositide-phospholipase C (PI-PLC) beta1:
fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) analysis aimed at
identifying a mono-allelic deletion of the PI-PLCbeta1 gene in
patients affected by MDS or AML, and quantification of the gene and
protein expression of PI-PLCbeta1 splicing variants in basal
conditions and during therapeutic protocols;
2. Analysis of the epigenetic involvement of PI-PLCbeta1 promoter
gene in MDS/AML: effect of demethylating treatments on patients
affected by MDS;
3. Analysis of PI3K, Akt, Erk and their downstream targets in MDS
and AML patients: activation and the role of these pathways in
high-risk MDS and AML.
