INTERNATIONAL COLLABORATIONS

2012 - 2017 -University of Pennsylvania - Program of exchange and collaboration on the biomarkers of critical illness in veterinary medicine (Prof. CM Otto - Prof. M. Giunti)

2017 - 2022 - Memorandum of Agreement- The Cornell University, College of Veterinary Medicine, Ithaca, NY (USA) and the Department of Veterinary Medical Sciences, Alma Mater Studiorum – University of Bologna (Italy) agree to establish a program of exchange and collaboration on the biomarkers of critical illness in veterinary medicine.

Main research topics:

  • Biomarker of critical illness with a particular focus on multiorgan dysfunction syndrome in small animal sepsis and SIRS
  • Assessment of pre-clinical models (swine) for the study of hypecolesterolemia induced vascular injury (in collaboration with the University of Milano-Bicocca, Milan, Italy) and gene therapy for retinal diseases (in collaboration with Telethon Institute of Genetics and Medicine – TIGEM, Naples, Italy)
