2022 (November) – he was appointed as Chair of the Publications and Social Media Committee of the Comité Maritime International (CMI).

2022 (May, 30) – winner of the “Alma Idea 2022” call (intervention line A - for the support of “bottom up”, interdisciplinary and potentially interdepartmental projects, which insist on the priority themes of the PNR with an interdisciplinary approach or dealing with transversal issues), funded by the European Union NextGenerationEU, published by the Alma Mater Studiorum University of Bologna, for the assignment of a funding of Euro 24,000.00, aimed at activating a research fellowship position lasting one year.

2022 (April, 5 – current) – appointment as member of the Teaching Body of the PHD course in “Future Earth, Climate Change and Societal Challenges” of the Department of Physics and Astronomy “Augusto Righi” - DIFA of the Alma Mater Studiorum University of Bologna. He was also Coordinator of the Social Sciences courses within the Ph.D. course for the academic year 2022/2023.

2021 (July) – appointment as member of the Working Group of the Associazione Italiana di Diritto Marittimo (AIDIM), which adviced the Italian Ministry of Sustainable Infrastructures and Mobility for the purpose of ratifying the Nairobi International Convention on the Removal of Wrecks, 2007.

2021 – current – member of the Scientific Board of the Centre of Advanced Studies for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises of the Department of Sociology and Business Law – Alma Mater Studiorum University of Bologna.

2020 – current – participation, as a member of the research unit of the University of Teramo, in the Scientific Research Program of Relevant National Interest (PRIN) 2020. Title of the Research Project: “Rethinking the Principle of Unlimited Liability in the Context of the Current Legal Framework: the Pioneering Role of Maritime, Air and Transportation Law as Forerunner of the New Rules and Models of Limitation of Liability and Claims?”.

2020 (June) – winner of the call published by the University of Teramo for the award of the grant for Staff Mobility for Teaching (STA) for teaching activities within the ERASMUS+ Program 2019/2020.

2019 (November, 11 – current) – he was appointed as member of the international research group, composed by Professors from various foreign Universities, created by Prof. Dr. María Victoria Petit Lavall and by Prof. Dr. Achim Puetz (of the Facultad de Ciencias Juridicas y Economicas of the Universitat Jaume I of Castellón de la Plana) in order to perform the research project no. 2682 - PID2019-107204GB-C33, entitled “El transporte ante el desarrollo tecnológico y la globalización: nuevas soluciones en materia de responsabilidad y competencia - Transport faced with the challenges of technological development and globalization: new solutions in the field of liability and competition”, which will last 4 years, as per the call published by the Spanish Ministerio de Ciencia, Innovación y Universidades (Propuesta de resolución provisional del procedimiento de concesión de ayudas a «proyectos de I+D+i» en el marco de los programas estatales de generación de conocimiento y fortalecimiento científico y tecnológico del sistema de I+D+i y de I+D+i orientada a los retos de la sociedad, convocatoria 2019).

2017 (September) – he was appointed as member of the Standing Committee of the Young Comité Maritime International.

2016 (September, 28 – current) – he was appointed as member of the international research group composed by Professors of the Universiteti “A. Xhuvani” di Elbasan – Albania and the Alma Mater Studiorum University of Bologna, which will focus on a comparative study on some of the main issues in the matter of Maritime and Air Law in the Albanian and Italian jurisdiction, also in light of international conventions.

2015 (November) – he was appointed as member of the Committee for the Ship Nomenclature, inside the Comité Maritime International (CMI), which will study the definition of “ship” in international Conventions in the maritime sector and in the domestic legislation of each Country, in order to find a solution aimed at achieving a greater uniformity at the international level of the use of the concept of “ship”.

Xhuvani” di Elbasan – Albania – Prof. Arber Gjeta; Università degli Studi di Sassari – Prof. Michele Maria Comenale Pinto; Alma Mater Studiorum University of Bologna), which will focus on a study and a subsequent proposal of new models related to public local transport in Albania, with a research project entitled: “Trasporto Pubblico: Modelli Giuridico-Economici verso il partenariato pubblico-privato (PPP)” (“Public Transport: Legal-Economic Models Towards the Public Private Partnerships”).

2022 (September, 30) – participation on invitation at the Congress “Advancing Ship Technology Autonomy – moving the discourse from ‘disruption’ to ‘enablement’ and the upgrade of human capabilities in the digital era”, organized by the Institute of Maritime Law of the Southampton Law School, with a speech on “Maritime Unmanned Navigation and Its Liability Regime: The Search for a Balance between Regulation and Technology”.

2022 (September, 9) – participation to the organization of the 10th edition of the Conference “Transport Law de Lege Ferenda”, held in Dubrovnik at the Inter-University Centre (IUC), to which many academics from Spanish, Croatian, Montenegrin, Albanian and Italian Universities have participated. During the Conference he held a speech on “The Assessment of the Status of Seaman in the US - Putting the Human Being Back at the Center: a Renaissance Exercise that Does Not Fully Convince.

2022 (September, 7) – one hour lecture on “Maritime Autonomous Surface Ships and the Limitation of the Liability of the Shipowner”, held in Dubrovnik at the Inter-University Centre (IUC), within the framework of the “International Maritime and Transport Law Course”, of which he is one of the Course Directors. On the same day he also participated in the round table on the theme “National Legislation on Autonomous Vessels”.

2022 (June, 27) – participation on invitation at the Conference “Francesco Berlingieri e le Regole di Rotterdam nel 100° anniversario dalla nascita” (“Francesco Berlingieri and the Rotterdam Rules on the 100th anniversary of his birth”), organized in Genoa by AIDIM - Associazione Italiana di Diritto Marittimo, with a speech on “The Rotterdam Rules: Scope of Application”.

2021 (September, 10) – participation on invitation to the hybrid seminar “Science & Law: International Law Answers to Scientists’ Current Challenges”, organized by the Union Internationale des Avocats (UIA), with the support of the Trieste Bar Association, during the EuroScience Open Forum (ESOF) in Trieste. He held a presentation on “An Overview of the Regulatory Background of the Decarbonisation in Maritime Transport and the Role of the New Technologies” in the Session “Sustainability in the Shipping Industry”.

2021 (September, 8) – participation to the organization of the 9th edition of the Conference “Transport Law de Lege Ferenda”, held in Dubrovnik at the Inter-University Centre (IUC), to which many academics from UK, Spanish, Polish, Chinese, Croatian and Italian Universities have participated. 2019 (September, 29 – October, 2) – participation to the Assembly Meeting of the Comité Maritime International (CMI), held in Mexico City, during which, on 30th September, in the YCMI session, entitled “The Future of Shipping Lawyers”, he held a presentation on “The impact of Ross and Its Brothers on the Profession of Shipping Lawyers”. During the event he also actively participated to the works of the International Working Group on Ship Nomenclature (in his quality as a member of the related International Subcommittee), and of the Young Comité Maritime International (YCMI), in his quality as a member of the Standing Committee of the latter.

2019 (September, 19 – 20) – participation to the “International and Comparative Maritime Law Conference – Current Developments and Trends” (of which he was also one of the four Conference Directors), organized in Dubrovnik at the Inter-University Centre, with a presentation on “How and to What Extent the Artificial Intelligence Will Change the Profession of Shipping Lawyers”.

2019 (July, 4) – during “The Twentieth Annual International Maritime Law Arbitration Moot Competition (IMLAM)”, organized by the Murdoch University School of Law (Perth, Australia), held between June 30th and July 5th 2019 at the School of Law of the Erasmus University Rotterdam, he played, on invitation, the role of Arbitrator both in the preliminary final between the teams of the University of Sydney and of the National University of Singapore and in the quarter final between the teams of the University of Southampton and the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid.

2019 (July, 3 – 4) – participation on invitation to the 7th edition of the Conference “Transport Law de Lege Ferenda”, organized in Rotterdam by the Erasmus University, to which many academics from Dutch, Spanish, UK, Croatian and Italian Universities have participated. During the Conference he held a presentation on “The Interrelations between Compulsory Insurance of Shipowners for Maritime Claims and the Shiponwer’s limitation of liability: a case of lack of coordination in Italy among Disciplines of Different but Complementary subjects”.

2018 (September, 14 – 15) – participation to the organization of the 6th edition of the Conference “Transport Law de Lege Ferenda”, organized in Castelsardo by the University of Sassari, in collaboration with the Alma Mater Studiorum - University of Bologna, the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, the Universidad Jaume I and the Instituto Universitario de Derecho del Transporte (Castellon de la Plana), the University of Copenhagen, the Universidad del País Vasco (Bilbao) and the Université Touluse 1 Capitole, to which many academics from French, Danish, Spanish, UK, Croatian and Italian Universities have participated. During the Conference he held the opening remarks, a presentation on “The strange case of the implementation of the Directive 20/2009/EC in Italy” and a speech during the closing ceremony.

2017 (October, 20 – 21) – participation on invitation to the International Scientific Conference “The Challenges and Perspectives of Private Law” organized by the Faculty of Law of the University of Tirana. During the first day of the Conference Mr. Musi held a presentation on «Carrier’s Limitation of Liability: a General Overview». During the second day, he chaired and moderated the Session 1, in which twelve researchers have presented their researches in the field.

2016 (November, 27) – participation to the organization of the “Transport Law de Lege Ferenda: 4th Annual Young Academics’ Vision on Tomorrow’s Transport Law – TransLawFer 2016 Seoul Conference” held at the Korea University Law School (Seoul), to which many academics from Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Spanish, Croatian and Italian Universities have participated. During the Conference he held the opening remarks, played the role of moderator for the Second Block of speakers, entitled “Cybersecurity, Technology and Transport” and held a presentation on “Successive Carriers in C.M.R. and Italian Law”.

Membership in Associations

In November 2022 he was appointed Chair of the Publications and Social Media Committee of the Comité Maritime International (CMI).

Since September 2019 he is Member of the Associazione Italiana di Diritto della Navigazione e dei Trasporti (AIDINAT) and since November 2023 he is member of the “Consiglio Direttivo” of the same.

Since August 2019 he is Senior Member of the China-Europe Commercial Collaboration Association (CECCA).

In September 2017 he was appointed as member of the Standing Committee of the Young Comité Maritime International.

In November 2015 he was appointed as member of the Committee for the Ship Nomenclature, inside the Comité Maritime International (CMI).

Since 2015 he is Member of the Associazione Italiana di Diritto Marittimo (AIDIM), Genoese Regional Committee, associated with the Comité Maritime International (CMI).

From 2015 to 2020 he was Secretary of the International Propeller Clubs - Port of Bologna.

2010 - he was one of the founding members of the International Propeller Clubs - Port of Bologna.
