In 2013 she graduated with honours from Bologna University, where she has recently received the PhD in Agricultural, Environmental and Food Science and Technology, curriculum in Zootechnical sciences, working in particular in the animal genetics field. She published in peer-reviewed journals such as Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology, Animal, Livestock Science, Meat Science, Animals, Animal Genetics, Journal of Animal Breeding and Genetics, and Poultry Science. During these years, she has been involved in researches linked to livestock breeding and genetics, aimed at investigating the molecular patterns associated with livestock production performances, and with pig carcass and meat fat deposition. Other interests are in animal welfare, in the study of sows' colostrum composition and in the investigation of the molecular basis of breast myopathies in broilers. At present, she is enrolled as senior assistant professor.
