2021-2026: Participant in the project selected and financed by the Italian Space Agency (ASI) APHRODITE (Autonomous PHotosensing Reusable Onboard Device for Immunological Tests Execution) for the development of a compact and versatile system for performing analyzes of biological fluids in space missions with crew and its use as a technological demonstrator on board the ISS for the quantitative determination of salivary biomarkers indicating alterations in the functionality of the immune system.
2021-2023 Principal Investigator of the project “Development of a portable biosensor for the early detection of ovarian cancer biomarkers”, selected and financed by the Cassa di Risparmio Foundation in Bologna. The project aims to develop an analytical device capable of revealing biomarkers in the blood indicative of ovarian cancer from its early stages.
2017- 2020: Participant in the project entitled "Study of highly predictive biomarkers and development of POC bioanalytical platforms for the early assessment of the onset of colorectal cancer" funded under the Alma Idea Grant Junior of the University of Bologna
2016- 2020: Participant in the project "PLEIADES: Planetary Life Explorer with Integrated Analytical Detection and Embedded Sensors" funded by the Italian Space Agency for the creation of an analytical platform capable of revealing biomarkers of life in extraterrestrial environments.
2014-2017: Participant in the project "ISS Non-invasive Sample Investigation and results Transmission to ground with the Utmost easiness (IN SITU)" funded by the Italian Space Agency for the design and construction of a portable device suitable for carrying out chemical-clinical analyzes on oral fluid samples for use on board the International Space Station (ISS).
2013-2016: Participant in the PRIN 2010-2011 (20108ZSRTR_002) ARTEMIDE (Autonomous Real Time Embedded Multi-analyte Integrated Detection Environment) project for the creation of an integrated chip for the early diagnosis of viral infections.
