Research

The research activity is mainly aimed at the development and/or optimization of (bio)analytical methods based on bio- and chemiluminescent detection systems, in particular:

- Development of miniaturized analytical devices based on microfluidics or "lateral flow immunoassay" systems with chemiluminescence detection for the determination of analytes of interest in point-of-care (POC) applications.

- Development of bio- and chemiluminescent immunological and gene hybridization methods, also in multiplex format, for the quantitative determination of analytes of interest in the medical, agri-food, environmental and cultural heritage fields.

- Ultrasensitive methods of image analysis in microscopy with chemiluminescent detection based on immunohistochemistry for the localization of proteins, even in multianalyte formats, on pictorial samples.

- Development of new bio- and chemiluminescent detection systems for bioanalytical applications.
