Inglese 2 ARCO. Classes this week and a seminar not to miss
Dear all,
a quick reminder about this week's classes.
We meet on Tuesday 13 May, 3-5 pm, and on Friday 15 May, 1-3 pm. Friday will be our last class of the course.
I also want to draw your attention to a seminar taking place on Thursday 14 May, 11 am-1 pm, Aula II (Via Zamboni 38) as part of the seminar cycle valid for the 3 CFU ARCO. It is not part of our course, but I genuinely recommend it. A visiting international scholar will be speaking about the role of lingua francas in the history of science, tracing how English became the global language of scientific knowledge. It is a great opportunity to listen to an international academic, practise your English listening skills, and reflect on a question that is far from trivial: is science truly universal, or is it shaped by the language and culture in which it is produced?
