She graduated in Hispanic Philology (Universidad de Barcelona),
continuing her studies in ‘semiotics of the theatre' at the School
for Arts and Drama (DAMS - University of Bologna).
Since 1989 she has been teaching at the School of Modern
Languages for Interpreters and Translators (University of Bologna,
Forlì), where she has held courses in Italian-Spanish Translation,
Spanish Language, Oral Language Mediation (Italian and Spanish) and
Spanish Literature.
From 1987 to 1994 she had a busy professional career as a
translator in the publishing field as well as a simultaneous
interpreter for films for the Film Library of the City of
Bologna.
Part of the university theater since 1993, she has been
responsible for the design of over 20 performances in Spanish,
staging texts by Cervantes, Borges, Lope de Vega, García Lorca,
Sanchis Sinisterra, Abilio Estévez, etc.. She has also
made three documentary films for the EU, the University of Bologna
and the Municipality of Bologna.
She is currently the scientific director of the Center for
Theatre Studies, "Scenic Studies and Intercultural Communication",
Department SITLeC (University of Bologna, Forlì) and member of the
board "The Diego Fabbri Centre for research and training in theater
and the language of entertainment " (Forlì, University of Bologna,
Emilia-Romagna).
She has published research in the following areas:
the acquisition of Spanish as a foreign language in future
language mediators, the theater as Art and as a teaching tool in
acquiring translation and intercultural skills, multimedia
translation, the translation of poetry, Hispanic
influence on modern Italian, the translation of the novela
policiaca, Spanish and Hispanic-American, for the Italian
market.
