Born in 1990, he obtained his Bachelor's degree in Chemical Sciences and Technologies from the University of Milano-Bicocca in 2013 with honors, under the supervision of Prof. Alessandro Abbotto, with a thesis on the synthesis of dyes for p-type DSSC photovoltaic cells.
He graduated with honors in Photochemistry and Molecular Materials at the University of Bologna in September 2015, under the supervision of Prof. Paola Ceroni, with a thesis on the study of the self-assembly of azobenzene units in aqueous solution.
In December 2018, he earned his Ph.D. in Chemical Sciences from Aix-Marseille Université (supervisor: Prof. Marc Gingras), in a joint supervision program with the University of Bologna (co-supervisor: Prof. Paola Ceroni), with a thesis entitled "Smart and highly phosphorescent asterisks for (bio)sensors, antennae and molecular imaging."
From February 2019 to March 2022, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher in Prof. Paola Ceroni’s group, focusing on the synthesis and photophysical study of highly phosphorescent persulfurated molecules (Aggregation Induced Emission, AIE), as well as on the synthesis and characterization of NIR-emitting silicon nanocrystals.
From April 2022 to March 2025, he was a fixed-term junior researcher (RTD-a, Art. 24, paragraph 3(a), Law 240/2010) at the Department of Chemistry “G. Ciamician”, University of Bologna.
Since April 2025, he has been a Tenure-Track Researcher (Law 79/2022) at the Department of Chemistry “G. Ciamician”, University of Bologna.
