Curriculum vitae

Marco Palanca was born in San Benedetto del Tronto (AP), on 27th March, 1988.

He is a post-doc at the Department of Industrial Engineering at the University of Bologna, working in the in the field of biomechanics, with particular emphasis on spine and experimental tests.
He was a PhD student in Biomechanics at University of Bologna, with the project "Development of methods for the in vitro biomechanical characterization of segments of human spine" under the supervision of Prof. L. Cristofolini.

Marco Palanca earned his Master Degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2013, at University of Bologna, with a final evaluation of 110/110, with thesis "Optimization of parameters for the strain analysis on bone segments by means digital image correlation" in Experimental Stress Analysis, under the supervision of Prof. L. Cristofolini.
In 2011 earned his Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering, at University of Bologna, with thesis in Machine Design, under the supervision of Prof. G. Caligiana

His research fields covers full-field and contact-less measurements technique, such as the Digital Image Correlation (DIC) and the Digital Volume Correlation (DVC) and tests in vitro for the mechanical characterization of spine .  During his PhD, he collaborated with the university of Portsmouth (UK) in 2014 and with the University of Sheffield (UK) in 2015/2016.

He published papers in ISI indexed peer-reviewed journals and presented his works on national and international congress; such as AIAS (Associazione Italiana per l'Analisi delle Sollecitazionei), ESB (European Society of Biomechanics), ICMMB (International Conference on Mechanics in Medicine and Biology).
