Manuela Mandrone

Associate Professor at the University of Bologna, Department of Pharmacy and Biotechnology (FaBiT).

Her research focuses on medicinal and aromatic plants through an integrated metabolomic approach, primarily based on nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy and chemometric analysis.

A systemic perspective on plants and their metabolites guides her work, spanning traditional medicines and ethnobotany, quality control of natural products, and plant–environment interactions.

She serves on the Board of Directors of the Italian Society of Phytochemistry (SIF), is Subject Editor for Plant Biosystems, and author of numerous peer-reviewed publications. She is also interested in the symbolic and cultural meanings attributed to plants.
