An adjunct professor at the University of Bologna since 2022, she has focused her studies and professional practice on mathematics education. Her research interests center specifically on mathematics education within a laboratory setting, framed by the context of special education.
Education
In 2025, she obtained a Second-Level Master’s degree in "Governance of Autonomous Schools: Organizational, Strategic, and Technical Roles" from IUL Online University; in 2023, another in "School Leadership and Strategic Management" from the University of Bologna; and in 2022, one in "School Executives in Educational Institutions" from Niccolò Cusano Online University.
In 2023, she attended the Advanced Training Course "Assesment, Planning, and Innovative Actions Supporting the School System and Schools: The Technical Executive in a Changing School Environment", organized by the University of Bologna (Alma Mater). This course complemented several previous programs organized by the same university aimed at professional development for School Principals and Teachers holding middle management roles within educational institutions. In 2017, also at the University of Bologna, she participated in the Advanced Training Course "The Role and Functions of the School Tutor".
In 2011, she obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Behavioral Techniques for Children with Autism and Developmental Disorders from the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia. Subsequently, in 2014, he earned a degree in Primary Education Sciences from the University of Bologna’s then-School of Psychology and Education Sciences, with a thesis on Italian language teaching methodology titled: "The 'Math Problem' as a Textual Problem".
Academic Career
After serving for several years (2017–2021) in a partial-release role as a coordinating tutor for the Primary Education degree program at the University of Bologna, she became an adjunct professor in 2022 in the disciplinary field M-PED/03 (Special Education/Didactics). In this capacity, she conducted workshops on logical and mathematical language for the specialization course qualifying teachers to provide educational support to primary school students with disabilities.
Starting in the 2024/2025 academic year, she has held adjunct teaching positions in the disciplinary field MATH-01/B (Mathematics Education and History of Mathematics). Her responsibilities include conducting workshops on "Numbers and Relations: Reflections and Analysis of Teaching Activities" and "Space and Shapes, Data and Predictions: Designing Educational Pathways" for the Single-Cycle Master’s Degree Program in Primary Education (code 5711).
Other activities
Since 2006, she has held a permanent position as a primary school teacher at a comprehensive school in the province of Bologna.
For several years, she has been involved—on behalf of the Ministry of Education or Ministry-recognized training bodies—in the initial and ongoing training of school staff, focusing on competency-based planning, certification, and assessment, as well as the teaching of mathematics within a workshop-based setting.
Since 2017, she has authored articles and sections of adopted textbooks for primary school teachers on behalf of various publishing houses, such as Sanoma, Pearson, and Nuovo Gulliver Srl.
