Short Bio

Luca Pinto is Associate Professor of Political Science at the Department of Political and Social Sciences, University of Bologna. He obtained his degree and PhD from the University of Milan. His research interests include coalition governments, parliamentary behaviour, political parties, electoral competition, and comparative political institutions. More recently, he has focused on the digitalisation of representative institutions and the use of digital and AI-based tools in parliaments and political parties. He has published two monographs and numerous journal articles and book chapters. He was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Bologna and the Scuola Normale Superiore; in 2018 he became Assistant Professor at Bologna and since 2021 he has been Associate Professor. He has taught at the Universities of Milan, Bologna, and Bozen-Bolzano, and was a visiting student at MIT and a visiting scholar at MZES. He is member of the departmental Center for Computational Social Science (CssC).
