Short Bio

Luca Pinto is associate professor in Political Science in the Department of political and social science at the University of Bologna. He completed his PhD and his undergraduate studies at the University of Milan. His research interests include party competition, governments and legislative studies in general. He has published on these topics several contributions in books and international journals.

From 2011 to 2015, he was a post-doctoral fellow at the University of Bologna, working on a project dealing with legislative behaviour, parliamentary fluidity and political representation in Italy. In 2015, he moved to the Institute of Human and Social Sciences at the Scuola Normale Superiore to work on a project on uncoventional monetary policies of central banks. In 2018, he became assistant professor in Political Science at the University of Bologna.

He has been teaching assistant and lecturer at the University of Milan, University of Bologna and the Free University of Bozen. He spent time as a visiting student at the MIT (USA) and as a visiting fellow at the MZES (Germany).

He is member of the departmental Center for Computational Social Science (CssC).
