Research activity deals with many aspects related to synthetic organic chemistry, and can be outlined as follows:
-Development of new catalytic enantioselective reactions. Different types of organic catalysts (from phosphoric acids to Cinchona alkaloids and thioureas) are exploited to explore and develop new reactivity patterns.
-“Blue chemistry”: Biopolymers from marine sources: manipulations and applications in heterogeneous catalysis. Topic in collaboration with Dr. Nathalie Tanchoux, CNRS Montpellier, France.
