Curriculum vitae

First year PhD student of the PhD course in "Health, Safety and Green Systems", 37th cycle. The research interests are mainly aimed at the relationship between psychological aspects and physical activity. Currently, her research is focused on the risks and benefits related to the daily practice of active mobility as a means of travel (walking and cycling), considering both the individual and the entire ecosystem.

2014 - Trainee at the Training and Guidance Center of the University of Catania. The role was centred in helping students who had not completed university exams within set time period, through support group meetings.

2014 - Bachelor's degree in Psychological Sciences and Techniques, University of Catania. Final grade 110/110 with honors. Experimental thesis "Pregnancy between well-being and discomfort": the study aim was to investigate the levels of psychological well-being of pregnant women (and their partners); the results showed that parents-to-be are more likely to live the pregnancy time in a state of psychological well-being if they feel satisfied and effective with their lives.

2016 - Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology, Alma Mater Studiorum University of Bologna (Cesena Campus). Final grade 110/110 with honors. Experimental thesis "Psychological aspects in the Metabolic Syndrome: exploratory study on a sample of participants in a lifestyle change intervention": the study highlighted the importance of psychological support combined to the increase of physical exercise and improvement in nutrition, due to the presence of anxious and depressive symptoms and eating behaviors linked to specific psychopathological variables.

2016 - Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology, Alma Mater Studiorum University of Bologna (Cesena Campus). Final grade 110/110 with honors. Experimental thesis "Psychological aspects in the Mtelabolic Syndrome: exploratory study on a sample of participants in a lifestyle change intervention": the study highlights that the presence of anxious and depressive symptoms and eating behaviors attributable to specific psychopathological areas could justify the '' integration of a path of psychological support to be combined with the increase of physical exercise and the improvement of nutrition.

2017 - Psychologist Trainee at SISPSE (Italian Society of Sexology and Sexual Psychopathology), Turin. The aim was to support the sex offenders of the Prison of Vercelli in elaborating and reflecting on the crimes committed, through face-to-face interviews and group therapy. In addition, training courses were organized together with the Municipality of Turin for social workers dealing with difficult domestic situations.

2018 - Qualification to the profession of Psychologist and registration as a professional with the Order of Psychologists of the Sicily Region.

2020 - Registered with the British Psychological Society as a Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership.

2021 - Support Worker at Creative Support, Manchester (UK). The role involved one-to-one meetings with adults with mental disabilities in order to promote their sense of self-worth, independence, social inclusion and personal identity, as opposed to the labels of "illness" and "disability".
