Curriculum vitae

Loris Giorgini is Full Professor at the Department of Industrial Chemistry at the University of Bologna, from 2019. He received his degree in 1995 and the Ph.D. degree in Industrial Chemistry from the University of Bologna in 1999. His research interests include synthesis and characterization of functional polymers with peculiar properties for specific applications. In particular, synthesis of multifunctional polymeric materials, photochemistry with special emphasis to photochromism and photoinduced properties, supramolecular chiral organization of polymeric and dendrimeric compounds, chiroptical properties, liquid crystalline optically active polymeric materials, block-copolymers and photochromic chiral polymers for nanoscale advanced applications in several fields, such as sensors, devices, optical storage systems, photoconductive, phtorifractive and photovoltaic materials.
In date 18/09/2007, he has received the Young Award by AIM (Italian Association of Science and Technologies of the Macromolecules) for his researches in macromolecular field.
He is author of about 130 scientific papers published on international journals and over 150 communications to national and international meetings.
He is responsible of research group financed by the University of Bologna (Young Strategic Project 2006) and he has contributed at research groups financed by the Italian Minister of University and Research (funds PRIN 2002, 2004, 2007 and FIRB 2003) and by the University of Bologna (funds "ex-60%").
He is responsible of several industrial contracts in the field of the polymeric materials.
He is responsible of research group of the University of Bologna financed by the Regione Emilia Romagna DGR n. 1631/2009
(“Pro.Ma.Tec." Processi e Materiali Innovativi Tecnologicamente avanzati per la Meccanica)
He is Aggregate Professor of “Recovery and recycling of polymeric materials” and "Industrial Polymers" in the Faculty of Industrial Chemistry at Bologna University since 2002.
