Lorella Ceschini

Full Professor of Metallurgy at the Department of Industrial Engineering (DIN) of the University of Bologna. Author of over 230 scientific papers, predominantly published in international journals or conference proceedings, 1 book published by Springer, and a chapter in Volume 18 of the ASM Handbook.

Research interests focus on the microstructure-property-process correlations of ferrous alloys (steels and cast irons), light alloys (aluminum, titanium, magnesium, and their composites). In addition to traditional casting and plastic deformation processes, particular attention is given to additive manufacturing by LPBF and WAAM. The fatigue and tribological behavior of metallic materials are specifically studied.

She is responsible for national and international research projects, coordinates the research activities of SPOKE11 - Innovative Materials and Lightweighting of the National Center for Sustainable Mobility (MOST), and is involved in numerous industrial collaborations with companies in the automotive and packaging sectors.
