Jane Helen Johnson has been Assistant Professor at the Department of Modern Languages, Literatures and Cultures of the University of Bologna since 2008. She teaches English for Specific Purposes on the Masters degree course in Language, Society and Communication at the School of Modern Languages, as well as English for Administration on the Masters degree course in Politics, Administration and Organisation (PAO).
Her research interests include Translation, Corpus Linguistics, Corpus Stylistics, and Corpus-Assisted Discourse Studies (CADS), particularly in the area of discourses of climate change. A number of her research projects combine English for Specific Purposes with CADS. She is currently involved in research into EMI (English as Medium of Instruction).
She is Bologna University’s correspondent for GERAS (Groupe d‘étude et de Recherche en Anglais de Spècialitè).
She is a member of the scientific committee of the inter-university research group Dis4Change - Studies on Climate Change and Environmental Discourse.
