Jane Helen Johnson has been Assistant Professor at the Department of Modern Languages, Literatures and Cultures of the University of Bologna since 2008. She teaches English for Specific Purposes on the Masters degree course in Language, Society and Communication at the School of Modern Languages, as well as English for Administration on the Masters degree course in Politics, Administration and Organisation (PAO) and English for Social Workers on the Social Services degree course at the School of Political Sciences.
Her research interests include Translation, Corpus Linguistics and Corpus Stylistics, and particularly Corpus-Assisted Discourse Studies (CADS). Many of her research projects combine CADS and English for Specific Purposes. She is currently involved in research into EMI (English as Medium of Instruction).
She is Bologna University’s correspondent for GERAS (Groupe d‘étude et de Recherche en Anglais de Spècialitè).
