Curriculum vitae

I am a biologist with a Master's degree in Microbiology and Virology obtained in 2010. In the same year, I was awarded a two-year scholarship at the Department of Food and Agricultural Sciences and Technologies, where I developed molecular biology assays to detect mutations conferring resistance to fungicides in plant pathogens. In 2014, I received a Marco Polo grant to carry out six months of research at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) in Hamburg, focusing on the characterization of the CALM-2 protein. In 2016, I earned a PhD in Microbial Ecology/Plant Pathology from the University of Bologna, graduating with the Doctor Europaeus distinction. During my postdoctoral years, I specialised in molecular approaches for the identification of pathogens affecting plants. For nearly eight years, I have worked on fungicide resistance in agricultural systems, using advanced molecular techniques such as droplet digital PCR (ddPCR). Alongside my research activity, I have been committed for many years to Dogwelfare and applied canine work. I am a certified dog trainer and instructor specialised alsoin scent detection, with long-standing experience in the early detection of plant pathogens. I collaborate with national and international research institutions, including ISPRA (Italy), NEIKER (Spain), and academic partners in Australia.
