I am Associate Professor of Literary Criticism and Comparative Literature at the University of Bologna, where I teach Sociology of Literature and History of Literary Criticism. My research explores the relationships between literary criticism, cultural institutions and the historical imagination, combining literary criticism, comparative literature and cultural history. It develops along three interconnected lines: Roland Barthes and the history of criticism; literature, media and cultural forms; and the cultural imagination of modernity, especially aviation. These research interests are reflected in the monographs

Alongside my scholarly work, I also write poetry. My most recent collection,
I popoli scomparsi (Italic peQuod, 2020), awarded the Antonio Gramsci Prize (2022), explores the relationships between history, memory and the cultural imagination.
