Guido Mattia Gallerani is Assistant Professor in Comparative Literature and Literary Theory at Alma Mater Studiorum – Università di Bologna, where he teaches Sociology of Literature. For Firenze University Press, he published L’intervista immaginata. Da genere mediatico a invenzione letteraria (2022): a study dealing with a genre combining journalism and fiction across different medias. For Morellini, another book on the creative evolutions of the essay: Pseudo-saggi. (Ri)Scritture tra critica e letteratura (2019), as well as Roland Barthes e la tentazione del romanzo (2013), where the research on essay’s genre and its relationship with the novel focuses on a specific case study. For Mondadori, together with Alberto Bertoni he edited the commented edition of Eugenio Montale’s Quaderno di quattro anni (2015). For Carocci, he wrote the intellectual biography Roland Barthes. Dalla vita al testo (2024).
He also wrote two books of poems: Falsa partenza (Ladolfi, 2014) and I popoli scomparsi (peQuod, 2020—Antonio Gramsci Prize). He is vice-president of the Center for Contemporary Poetry at the University of Bologna.
