Academic qualifications: 1982 Degree in Biological Sciences (at
the University of Bologna), with the mark summa cum laude.
1984-1986 PhD in Marine biochemistry.
Research career: 1990-2006 Lecturer at the Biochemistry Department
of the University of Bologna, Italy;
2006 Associate Professor of Clinical Biochemistry,
Department of Veterinary Medical Sciences, University of Bologna.
In this period were published papers and over 140 communications
at scientific meetings.
2018- Achievement of the National Scientific Qualification to the position of full professor for the sector 05/E3 (Clinical Biochemistry and Clinical Molecular Biology)
2020- Achievement of the National Scientific Qualification to the position of full professor for the sector 05/E1 (General Biochemistry)
She has been teaching continuously since 1994. Over the years, she has taught numerous courses mainly related to Comparative Biochemistry, Veterinary Biochemistry, Clinical Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. She has also given numerous lectures as part of Graduate Schools, master's programs and courses organized by the Zooprophylactic Institute. Over the years, she has been a tutor and lecturer to numerous undergraduates for undergraduate courses in Veterinary Medicine, Biotechnology, Animal Biotechnology, Health and Quality of Animal Products, Herbal Sciences and Biological Sciences and Health Biology.
The main research topics were on enzyme kinetics, protein
purification, metal metabolism and metallothionein function;
biochemical responses to pollutants, veterinary clinical biochemistry.
Active member of scientific societies in particular SIVSANC and
AISETOV.
Reviewer for: PlosOne, Comparative Biochemistry and Physiology, Environmental Pollution, Research in Veterinary Science, Biological Trace Element Research, Environmental Toxicology.
The teaching duties were mostly related to comparative and
clinical biochemistry.
Conference Organization: 23rd ESCPB, European Society for
Comparative Physiology and Biochemistry Congress, 2004 and 50°
Convegno Nazionale SIB, 2005.
Past President of the Italian Veterinary Society for the study of
Non-Conventional Species and Member of the Board of AISETOV.
Third mission: very active in dissemination activities, she participated in the event "European Researchers' Night", organized conferences and workshops to disseminate the research activities, held seminars in schools of all levels concerning the basis of proper nutrition, the scientific method and lately the objectives of the 2030 agenda.
