Short Bio

Gloria Isani is currently an Associate Professor of Clinical Biochemistry at Bologna University. She earned an MS in Biological Sciences in 1982 and a PhD in Biochemistry in 1986. In 1990 she joined as a Researcher at the Department of Biochemistry and since January 2012 she has been with the Department of Veterinary medical Sciences of Bologna University.

Her research interests include metal metabolism and metal-binding proteins, with an emphasis on metallothioneins in wild and domestic animals. She also works in the area of clinical biochemistry, with a special interest in the urinary proteome of mammals. She is involved in different research projects and has published more than 80 papers. She is currently a member of the Board of the AISETOV (Italian Association for the Study of Trace Elements inLiving Organisms).

Students are welcome every wednesday from 12 to 13. Anyway, the teacher is always available after telephone contact at the number 051 2097019, or by writing an email to: gloria.isani@unibo.it. Students are reminded to write by institutional e-mail (@ studio.unibo.it). Students will be received at the teacher's office (Biosciences and Biotechnology Service of the Department of Veterinary Medical Sciences, Biosciences and Biotechnology Service, Via Tolara di sopra No. 50 - Ozzano Emilia, Bologna). The teacher is also always available to receive students also at other educational sites, before the beginning or at the end of the scheduled lessons.

In emergency for Covid-19 is possible to carry out the reception of students on the Teams platform, by prior agreement with the teacher by sending an email to gloria.isani2@unibo.it.
