Short Bio

Giulia Fabini is a Research fellow in criminology at the Department of Legal Studies DSG, University of Bologna. She holds a PhD in "Law and society" from the University of Milan, and was student researcher at the Center for the study of law and society at UC Berkeley in Fall 2014. She was the assistant editor for the European journal of criminology (2017-2020), she is in the board of "Studi sulla questione criminale" and coordinates its blog. Her research focuses on Border control and the interaction between migrants and the police. She is also interested in migrants struggles and immigration courts, and the prison system from a gender perspective. Her most recent publication is 'Internal bordering in a context of undeportability. Border performances in Italy', published in Theoretical criminology.
