Dissertation topics suggested by the teacher.

  • Deformation localisation in the ductile-to-brittle tectonic evolution: deformation mechanisms and controlling factors

Main objectives: To frame orogenic processes within a model of polyphase crustal deformation resulting from the interaction (in space and time) of fault zones with shear zones in tectono-metamorphic units.

  • Structural-geological characterization of the transverse brittle structures in Northern Apennines (Italy)

Main objectives: (i) mapping and kinematic characterization of the transverse fault segments and fracture networks (principal and subsidiary); (ii) regional tectonic implication for the Northern Apennines during the transition from the syn- to the post-orogenic phase

  • Structural-geological characterisation and long-term evolution of Apennines fault zones

Main objectives: (i) mapping and kinematic characterization of the fault segments and fracture networks (principal and subsidiary); (ii) reconstructing the structural evolution ofthe fault zone; (iii) analysis of the fluid-rock interaction in fault zone
