Teaching

Dissertation topics suggested by the teacher.

1) Nanomechanical characterization of eukariotic cells.

2) Development of biosensors based on the assembly of nucleic acids in the nanoscale for intracellular or diagnostic applications.

3) Development of advanced dynamic 3D cell culture techniques for the testing of pharmaceuticals, chemicals and nanostructures.

candidates can also choose amongst internship projects at related laboratories abroad: the projects need to be confirmed and defined in detail at the moment of interest.

- Lab. of Life Science Electronics, Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne (Switzerland): development of microfluidic devices for the characterization and separation of extracellular vesicles.

- Nanobiophotonics Lab of the Leibnitz Institute at Jena (Germany): biosensor applications of plasmonic nanoparticles.

- Univ. of Leeds (UK): nanotechnology with nucleic acids

- Univ. of Edinburgh: availability to be defined
