Curriculum vitae

Giada Trisolini is Education Manager at the Department of Statistical Sciences and has been an Adjunct Professor at the Department of Education Studies, teaching courses in Teaching Innovation and Educational Technologies, since 2013.

Her academic journey began at the Department of Education at the University of Padua, where, in 2005, she obtained a bachelor’s degree as a “Training Expert in Social Organisations”, with a thesis on Knowledge Management. She later developed an interest in online learning and graduated cum laude in “Online Learning: Design and Management” at the Department of Education Studies at the University of Bologna, with a thesis on the design and implementation of learning objects in a corporate context.

In 2019, she obtained her PhD in Pedagogical Sciences, during which she studied constructivist and socio-constructivist pedagogical approaches and analysed the didactic models adopted in MOOCs. She was a visiting PhD student from November 2017 to February 2018 at the Open University of the Netherlands (OUNL), where she conducted a systematic literature review on MOOCs under the supervision of Prof Christian Stracke. From July to October 2018, she was at the Teaching Innovation Unit (TIU) and the Centre for Change and Complexity in Learning (C3L) at the University of South Australia (Adelaide), where she developed a matrix for MOOC design under the supervision of Prof Shane Dawson.

Her research interests are mainly focused on learning design in online environments (LMSs), lifelong learning programmes, digital skills for active citizenship, and data literacy.

She has conducted research on topics related to learning analytics, robotics in education, artificial intelligence, and educational apps, and has participated in various conferences, including international ones, to disseminate her research results. Since 2013, she has been a member of the Research Centre on Education, Media and Technology (CEMET) at the University of Bologna.
