Gabriele D'Uva is a Professor of Molecular Biology and head of a research unit at the University of Bologna, with additional research activities at IRCCS Policlinico Sant'Orsola. He is a member of the Executive Board of DIMEC and the Doctoral Program Committee in Surgical Sciences and Innovative Technologies. From 2009 to 2015, he worked at the Weizmann Institute of Science (Israel), and from 2016 to 2019, he was a Principal Investigator at IRCCS MultiMedica in Milan. His research focuses on the molecular mechanisms regulating cell proliferation and differentiation in development, tissue regeneration, and cancer. He has identified factors and signaling pathways (including ERBB2, BMP7, and the glucocorticoid receptor) that stimulate cardiac regeneration. He has published in high-impact journals, including Nature Cell Biology (2015), Nature Cardiovascular Research (2022) e Cell Reports (2024), with significant scientific and media impact.
