Gabriele D'Uva is a Molecular Biology professor and research unit leader at the University of Bologna, with research activities also conducted at the IRCSS Policlinico Sant'Orsola. He is a member of the Board of the Department of Medicine and Surgical Sciences (DIMEC) and of the PhD Board of Surgical Sciences and Innovative Technologies.
Previously, he worked as a researcher for over 5 years at the Weizmann Institute of Science, a prestigious research center in Israel, and as a Principal Investigator at the IRCCS MultiMedica in Milan.
Prof. D'Uva has extensive experience in molecular mechanisms regulating cell differentiation in tissue development, regeneration, and cancer. He has published in major scientific journals, discovering the key role of the co-receptor ERBB2 and the glucocorticoid receptor in heart regeneration (Nature Cell Biology, 2015; Nature Cardiovascular Research 2022), with significant scientific and media coverage.
