Gabriele Azzaro graduated from the University of Genova (Italy)
at the Faculty of Modern Languages in English language and
literature. He was granted an MA in English Linguistics from the
University of North Wales. He has taught English language at junior
high school in Italy, Italian language and linguistics, and Italian
literature (Dante and Boccaccio) in the UK (Univ. of North Wales
and Reading, Dept. of Modern Languages), and English language and
linguistics at various Italian universities (Chieti-Pescara,
IULM-Feltre, Padova, Messina, Genova, Bologna). At present he holds
the chair of English language and linguistics at the Faculty of
Education of the University of Bologna. He has worked with language
labs and multimedia in e-learning projects for foreign languages
since 1992. He coordinated the language teacher trainer course
(SSIS) at Bologna University for modern languages (English and
French).
He has carried out research and published in the areas of language
learning/teaching, child language acquisition, syntax and
morphology, acoustic phonetics, corpus linguistics, CALL.
