Research fellow at the University of Bologna since 2019, he carries out his research in the field of measurements. Research interests are aimed in particular at structural monitoring using fiber optic sensors, Lamb waves, and other advanced measurement techniques.
He currently focuses his research on the development of shape sensing algorithms for measuring cables containing multiple optical fibers and on the optimization of a test bench for hydrogen storage using metal hydrides within the NoMaH (Novel Materials for Hydrogen storage) project.

- 2015 – He obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering at the Marche Polytechnic University.
- 2018 – He obtained a Master's Degree in Aerospace Engineering at the Alma Mater Studiorum University of Bologna.
- 2019 – He obtained the qualification to practice the profession of Engineer (Section A) - Industrial Sector.
- 2023 – He obtained his Ph.D. in Mechanics and Advanced Engineering Sciences (XXXV cycle) at the Alma Mater Studiorum University of Bologna.
Academic career
- 2023-2024 – Research fellow. Project title: "Analysis and optimization of the thermal management of metal hydrides tanks for hydrogen storage".
- 2023 - He obtained the National Scientific Habilitation for the functions of Second Level university professor in the Competition Sector 09/E4 - MEASUREMENTS.
- 2022-2023 – Research fellow. Project title: “Measurements on fiber optic cables and sensor systems within the European project Horizon2020 SLAM-DAST No. 971149”.
- 2019-2023 – Ph.D. Student. Thesis title: “Qualification of optical fiber sensors for the structural health monitoring of aerospace structures”.
- 2019 – Research fellow. Project title: “Sviluppo di sensori in fibra ottica distribuiti per il monitoraggio strutturale”.
Awards and recognitions
- 2023 – Winner of the 2023 Best Paper Award. Recognition intended for the best five scientific articles of the Department of Industrial Engineering of the Alma Mater Studiorum - University of Bologna published from 01/01/2022 to 31/10/2023 in reviewed journals WOS and/ or SCOPUS.
