Curriculum vitae

I graduated in Philosophy (Aesthetics) at the University of Bologna in 2003, with a thesis on Lo stupore. Un percorso estetico-ontologico attraverso la filosofia di Martin Heidegger. I took my doctorate in Philosophy (Aesthetics and Ethics) at the same university in 2007, with a PhD thesis on Forme del conflitto. La filosofia di Heidegger degli anni Trenta tra politica e arte. While I was studying for my doctorate (from 2004 to 2006, with a scholarship from the university), I've been twice in Germany (4 months in 2005 and 3 months in 2006), where I continued my research activity at the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg, with scientific guidance from prof. Friedrich-Wilhelm von Herrmann. In 2007, after obtaining a DAAD scholarship, I went back to Germany to improve my PhD research and to study in depth the Nitzsche-Heidegger Auseinandersetzung.

From 2007 to 2012, I have been Cultore della Materia in Aesthetics at the Department of Philosophy of the University of Bologna, organizing seminars on Husserl, Nietzsche and Heidegger, helping students in the process of writing their degree thesis and I sat on exam commissions. In 2004, I was Coordinator of the Master in „Scienze e progettazione del paesaggio“, promoted by the University of Bologna. During academic years 2005-2006 and 2006-2007, I was Tutor d'Ateneo at the Faculty of Literature and Philosophy of the University of Bologna. In April 2012, I was appointed Ricercatore non confermato in Aesthetics (M-FIL/04) at the University of Bologna. In April 2015, I was appointed Ricercatore confermato in Aesthetics. In 2019 I was appointed Associate Professor of Aesthetics.

I have attended several congresses and held many lectures in Italy and Germany. From 2005 I am member of the Logos-Arbeitskreis Messina-Tübingen: as such I regularly attend its annual meetings. From 2008 to 2010, I contributed to the PRIN (Programma di Ricerca di Interesse Nazionale) on „Testo, extratesto, interpretazione. Prosecuzione dell'edizione critica delle opere edite e inedite di Schopenhauer e Nietzsche (lasciti, opere, carteggi)”, whose National coordinator was prof. Giuliano Campioni.

I write on the journals «Estetica. Studi e ricerche» (as editor-in-chief of the Bologna editorial office), «Studi di estetica», «Antologia Vieusseux», «Rifrazioni. Dal cinema all'oltre» (as associate editor), «Cineforum», «Parol» and «Il Cubo» (as member of the editorial staff). I have also collaborated with «Il ponte», «Philosophia», «Chora» (as member of the editorial staff), «Il pensiero mazziniano», «Bibliomanie», «Carte di Cinema» (as member of the editorial staff), «Cinergie» and «Millimetri».

In 1998, I was second best at the XVIII edition of the Premio di saggistica cinematografica “Adelio Ferrero”, with the paper Fuochi di sentimento sull'orlo dell'abisso (dedicated to Kitano's movie Hana-bi). In 2009, I obtained a “Menzione Speciale” in the essays section of the Premio di Filosofia “Viaggio a Siracusa” (X edition) for the book Luogotenente del nulla. Heidegger, Nietzsche e la questione della singolarità.

From 2009, I am a member of the Martin-Heidegger-Gesellschaft (Meßkirch). From 2004 to 2010, I have been a member of AISE (Associazione Italiana degli Studiosi di Estetica), for which, from 2005 to 2008, I have been Treasurer. From 2011, I am a member of SIE (Società Italiana di Estetica).
