19th and 20th Century German philosophy; hermeneutics;
phenomenology; aesthetics and poetics of cinema.
My research activity deals mainly with 19th and 20th Century
German philosophy. It is centered on ,phenomenology and
hermeneutics and focuses on philosophers such as Friedrich
Nietzsche, Martin Heidegger, Edmund Husserl and Hans-Georg Gadamer.
More specific research topics are the Nietzschge-Heidegger
Auseinandersetzung, the idea of nothingness and its
relationship with nihilism, the problem of singularity in its
aesthetical implications, and the investigation of the essence of
language.
I am also interested in aesthetics and poetics of cinema. I have
studied the amphibology (or the ambiguous character) of the
film-image, and produced work on directors such as Terrence Malick,
Andrej Tarkovskij and Werner Herzog.
