Curriculum vitae

I have been an Associate Professor at the University of Bologna since 2014. My interests lie in researching Russian language and culture, and translation, hence I have been studying interclausal links, Russian-Italian comparative analysis and corpus linguistics. At present, my research work focusses on the expression of conditional relationship, on text structure and on verbal aspect in Italian and Russian.

Education

In 2003, I graduated with an honours degree in Translation and Interpreting at the Advanced School of Modern Languages for Interpreters and Translators, University of Bologna. I went on to attain a PhD in Slavistics at the Department of Philological, Linguistic and Literary Studies, at La Sapienza University in Rome in 2008.

Academic career

After working as a research assistant at the University of Bologna from February to November 2008, during that same year I won a lecturing position (disciplinary scientific sector: L-LIN/21 - Slavistics) at the former Department of Interdisciplinary Studies in Translation, Languages and Cultures of the University of Bologna. In 2013, I passed the National Scientific Qualification as an Associate Professor. Since 15th September 2014, I have been an Associate Professor at the University of Bologna.

Teaching experience

From 2008 to date, I have been teaching First and Second cycle degrees at the Department of Interpreting and Translation - Campus of Forlì, University of Bologna.

At present, I teach Translation from Russian into Italian I and II at the First cycle degree in Intercultural and Linguistic Mediation; and Translation for Publishing (Russian) at the Second cycle degree in Specialized Translation.

Furthermore, I organise additional seminars with the participation of Professors from the most prominent Russian Universities, such as MGU, RGGU, HSE, RUDN.

Research activity

I am taking part in a project for expanding the Italian-Russian parallel corpus of the NKRJA along with Cattolica University in Milan (https://ruscorpora.ru/page/corpora-team/).

Since 2009, I have been a member of the international research group for textual contrastive linguistics GELiTeC (http://www.unige.ch/lettres/meslo/russe/actuscientifique/GeLiTec.html ).

I was a visiting Scholar at the University of California, Berkeley, Institute of Slavic, East European, and Eurasian Studies (http://iseees.berkeley.edu/ ) from February to May 2010.

Since 2007, I have taken part in the meetings of the Slavic Linguistics Research Group, held in Italy by prominent experts in the field of Slavic Linguistics.

I am referee for international and Italian peer-reviewed journals (Languages in contrast, Lingue e linguaggio, Folia Linguistica Historica) and for the FUP (Firenze University Press book series entitled “Studi Slavistici”).

2009 - to date

Promoter and person in charge of agreements of cooperation for student mobility between the Department of Interpreting and Translation - Campus of Forlì (University of Bologna) and the Faculty of Translation and Interpreting of the Moscow State Linguistic University (MGLU), former Institut inostrannych jazykov ‘Maurice Thorez'.

2016 - to date

Promoter and person in charge of agreements of cooperation for student mobility between the Department of Interpreting and Translation - Campus of Forlì (University of Bologna) and Astrakhan State University.

2016 – to date

Erasmus coordinator for the exchange programme with the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia.

2008 – to date

Member of the Traineeship Programme Committee at the Department of Interpreting and Translation - Campus of Forlì.

In 2016, I was one of the assessors for The Evaluation of the Quality of Research (VQR) for 2011-2014.

21/1/2020 – to date member of the Joint Teacher-Student Commission (Commissione Paritetica) of the Department of Interpreting and Translation.

Awards

In 2011, I was awarded the prize for the best PhD dissertation in Slavistics by the Italian Slavist Association.
