Curriculum vitae

Federica Muzzarelli is Full Professor of Photography and Visual Culture at the Bologna University (Rimini Campus Branch). She is the Director of the first cycle degree in Fashion Culture and Technique and she is Director of Studies of the Master in Design and Technology for Fashion Communication. She is the Editor in chief of new editorial collection in the scientific overview of the Cultural Studies named “Cultures, Fashion and Society”, International Publisher Pearson.

In general, her interests are dedicated to analysis and methologies of photographic presence in contemporary visual culture. Her main scientific research focuses are on photography and its relationships with Contemporary Arts. In particular:

- the photographic origins in the social and artistic context of the XIX century especially for what is concerning the automatic aspects as aesthetic meanings.

- the role and identity of the women photographic experiences between XIX and XX century as an anticipation of bodyartistic practices and performance.

- the historical and theoric aspects of fashion photography in relation with the contemporary visual culture.
