Fabio Tosi

Fabio Tosi is an Assistant Professor (RTDA) at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (DISI), University of Bologna, and a member of the CvLab. He received his PhD in Computer Engineering from the University of Bologna in 2021, with the highest grade, and was a Visiting Researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems in Tübingen, where he collaborated with the Autonomous Vision group. His research focuses on computer vision, with particular emphasis on 3D reconstruction from images, depth estimation from stereo and monocular images, challenging scenarios involving reflective and transparent surfaces, neural scene representations, 3D Gaussian Splatting, and Visual SLAM systems. He has authored over 80 peer-reviewed publications in international venues and received several awards, including the CVPL Best PhD Thesis Award 2022, the Best Paper Honorable Mention at 3DV 2021, and the Best Poster Award at BMVC 2024.
