Prof. de Angelis’s research is mainly devoted to atmospheric and space flight mechanics, with a strong emphasis on modeling, simulation, state estimation, and control. Following a PhD focused on the analysis and control of nonlinear systems, he has contributed to a broad range of topics, including the stability analysis of underactuated systems for magnetic attitude control of low-Earth-orbit satellites, as well as the study and control of fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft operating individually, in formation, or while transporting suspended payloads.
