Research

Keywords: Personal and social identity; Interpersonal and social relationships; Adolescence and emerging adulthood

My research activities focus on the psycho-social processes underlying the formation of personal and social identity, with particular reference to adolescence and emerging aduthood. Specifically, my research aims to examine the factors that promote (antecedents) and favor the consolidation (processes) of personal and social identity, with particular attention to social interaction in the context of family relationships, friendships, affective relationships, and school context. Also, my research aims to shed light on the effects (consequences) of identity formation, analyzing how identity configurations in which the personal and social dimensions are closely interconnected and characterized by multiple identifications promote social integration in various life contexts.
