Elisabetta Cilli carries out didactic and research activities at the University of Bologna as a adjunct Professor and laboratory technician. Her research is carried out mainly in the field of ancient DNA on topics of scientific interest. In particular, the research interests are aimed at the study of the genomics and epigenomics of human populations, personal identification, the study of the microbiota, identification and diffusion of infectious and genetic diseases, and moreover at the study of evolutionary and paleoecological changes correlated with the anthropic activity by paleogenetic analysis of animal remains. She collaborates with various Italian and international institutions, and among them, from 2008 she collaborates with the RIS of Parma with which she carries out research aimed at the personal identification and for the optimisation of the protocols of analysis of degraded DNA.
