Study grants for research period abroad for master thesis
On March 1st 2026 the Department of Statistical Sciences will publish a call for 10 study grants for students (and/or graduates) of master’s degree programs to support a research period abroad aimed at preparing (or further develop) their master thesis.
- Deadlines for applications:
- April 30th 2026: for research periods starting between 1 June and 30 November 2026
- September 30th 2026: for research periods starting between December 1st 2026 and May 30th 2027
- The duration of the research period must be at least of three months and cannot exceed six months
- For students of the Master Degrees in
- Statistical Sciences
- Greening Energy Market and Finance
- Statistics, Economics and Business
- Quantitative Finance
4 scholarships (for each deadline) are available
For students of the Master Degrees in Scienze Statistiche, Finanziarie e Attuariali 1 scholarship (for each deadline) is available.
The amount of each scholarship is between 2000€ and 3000€ (gross amount). The amount of the scholarships will be €3000 for destinations outside geographical Europe and €2000 for destinations within geographical Europe.
- In order to apply, among the other documents, students must provide before the deadlines:
- A research project (guidelines attached)
- A document signed by the UNIBO thesis supervisor attesting the reasons and usefulness of the stay abroad for the student
- A letter of acceptance (or email) from the hosting institution with the indication of the exact research period
