Elisa Bianchi holds a PhD in Greek Palaeography from La Sapienza University of Rome. Her research focuses on Greek manuscript culture, scribal practices and collaboration, and the material and textual transformations involved in the transition from manuscript to print during the Renaissance.
Since 2023, she has conducted research at the Warburg Institute, School of Advanced Study, University of London, as part of the AHRC-funded project Greek Manuscripts in Renaissance Venice: The Library of Guillaume Pellicier, carried out in collaboration with the Staatsbibliothek zu Berlin. Her work investigates the production, circulation, and scholarly use of Greek manuscripts within Guillaume Pellicier’s Venetian circle.
Since 2019, she has taught Manuscript Cataloguing at Alma Mater Studiorum – University of Bologna.
