Short Bio

Elena was born in November 1979. She is Associate Professor in Navigation Law and obtained a PhD in European Transport Law.

She is member of AIDIM, AIDINAT, ISDIT and of the International Propeller Club, Port of Bologna. She is also member of Scientific and Editorial Committees of Italian and international scientific reviews and series.

Elena has carried out research activities both in Italy and abroad and is member of international and Italian research groups. She speaks in international and Italian conferences on Navigation and Transportation Law and has published two books and several articles on reviews and collective works on the same subjects.

Her current researches concern the regime of liability of the carrier, its agents and employees and of the other persons involved in the carriage according to the Italian and international law, along with the relationship among the different contracts involved in the international sale of goods.

Office hours

Office hours are held each Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the office of Navigation Law, at the second floor of the Department of Legal Studies, in 27/29 Zamboni street. They begin in September and end within the 31st of July. They are suspended during holiday time.

For organizational reasons due to the necessity of scheduling the on-line meetings, students wishing to meet me are kindly requested to send me an email at least one day in advance.

For variations, the reception desks will be informed and the variations will be published on this website, too. In any case, it is always possible to write me at elena.orru2@unibo.it.

Students coming outside Bologna or Ravenna can meet me via Microsoft Teams. For this purpose, it is necessary to inform me with due advance, in order to enable me to connect via Teams.

Should a student not be able to meet me on the above-mentioned day and hour for objective reasons, we can arrange a different meeting.

Campus of Ravenna: during the second semester, office hours are held each Monday at 1 pm, at one of the offices of the Department of Legal Studies in 1 Oberdan street, mezzanine floor. After the end of classes, office hours will be held previous appointment. Students are therefore kindly asked to write an e-mail to elena.orru2@unibo.it
