My research focuses on the transformation of civil and commercial justice in the European and transnational legal space. A central strand examines International Commercial Courts as fora for resolving cross-border business disputes and as potential drivers of convergence among legal systems, procedural practices, and the rules governing international commerce. This perspective encompasses the study of lex mercatoria, European judicial cooperation, private international law, and the circulation of procedural models.
A further area of research concerns corporate distress and insolvency law, with particular attention to the restructuring of corporate groups, the European harmonisation of insolvency regimes, and bank crisis management. My work also explores the impact of digitalisation, artificial intelligence, and emerging technologies on the organisation of civil proceedings, evidentiary processes, and dispute-resolution mechanisms.
