My first line of research regards the transmission and interdisciplinary enhancement of musical heritage from Antiquity to Modern Age.The second line explores the narrative of sound events in the documents of travelers. I am one of the cofounders of MOISA. International society for the study of Greek and Roman music and its cultural heritage and I take part in Scientific Board di "Greek and Roman Musical Studies".
In the VQR 2015-19 I was the M-GEV for the musicological disciplines L-ART/07 and L-ART/08 and coordinator of the evaluators of disciplines of the arts (Area 10, SUB-GEV2). I took part in University's commissions and organisms (VRA, PQA) and in the teaching coordination of the Specialization School of Musical Heritage. In Italy and Europe, I have directed doctoral theses and served on habilitation commissions.
Future projects: a monograph on music and embryology in antiquity; an international conference on the reception of Greek and Roman music, celebrating 20 years of MOISA, is planned for 2027.
