Short Bio

Full Professor of Musicology and History of Music, she studies the transmission, reception and interdisciplinary enhancement of musical heritage from Antiquity to the early modern period, as well as sonic and musical events in travel narratives. She coordinated the University of Bologna research unit of the PRIN 2022 MUSE project and participates in international projects, including RIMAnt. She is the author of over ninety scholarly publications, a co-founder of MOISA and a member of the Scientific Board of Greek and Roman Musical Studies. She has held several roles in university governance and research assessment, including membership of the ANVUR Expert Panel for the 2015–2019 Research Quality Assessment. She currently coordinates the PhD Programme in Cultural and Environmental Heritage and serves on the Board of the Department of Cultural Heritage. Her current projects include a monograph on music and embryology in Antiquity and an international conference in 2027 marking MOISA’s twentieth anniversary.
