Work experiences
She is currently a PhD student in the 41st Cycle at the Department of Industrial Chemistry at the University of Bologna. She is conducting her doctoral work under the supervision of Professor Mariafrancesca Fochi, pursuing a research line focused on the discovery and development of asymmetric organocatalytic reactions for the sustainable synthesis of enantioenriched compounds.
From 2024 to 2025, she carried out research as a Research Fellow at the Interdepartmental Center for Industrial and Agri-Food Research (CIRI-AGRO) in collaboration with the Department of Civil, Chemical, Environmental, and Materials Engineering (DICAM) at the University of Bologna.
In 2023 she was the holder of a research grant at the Department of Chemistry and Industrial Chemistry (DCCI) at the University of Pisa. During this period she was responsible for the drafting and publication of scientific contributions, the inclusion and tutoring of two master's interns and the carrying out of exploratory experimental tests for projects in collaboration with multinational companies.
Education
She obtained the title of Master's Degree in Industrial Chemistry, Industrial curriculum in 2023 at the DCCI of the University of Pisa, discussing an experimental thesis entitled "Immobilization study of a ketoreductase for the enzymatic production of (S)-1-(3, 5-bis(trifluoromethyl)phenyl)-ethanol".
She obtained the title of Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry for Industry and the Environment in 2020 at the DCCI of the University of Pisa, discussing a thesis entitled "Synthesis project of (3R,3aR,6R,6aR)- hexahydrofuro[3,2-b]furan-6-amino-3-ol".
Scientific Activity
Winner of the 2023 GIC Award as best 2023 Master's Thesis developed in the field of sustainable catalysis in organic synthesis. She has contributed to international scientific journals such as:
- Royal Society of Chemistry - Sustainability with a tutorial review published on 03/03/25 titled "Synthetic routes and fields of application of isohexides: comprehensive perspective of relevant industrial compounds";
- Catalyst MDPI 2024 with a research article published on 20/02/24 entitled "Immobilization of alcohol dehydrogenases on silica-based supports and their application in enantioselective ketone reductions”;
- ChemCatChem 2023 with a research article published on 07/21/23 entitled "Biocatalytic asymmetric synthesis of (S)-1-(3,5 bis(trifluoromethyl) phenyl)-ethanol by immobilized KRED in batch and flow conditions";
- Catalyst Research 2023 Special Issue Recent trends in Biocatalysis with a review published on 08/11/23 entitled "Enzymes in poly(butylene succinate) industry: an overview on synthesis route and post-processing strategies".
She attended numerous national and international conferences with scientific contributions in the form of oral presentations and poster sessions.
