She is Associate Professor of Biochemistry at the University of Bologna. She is the Director of the Post-graduate learning program in “Nutrition and nutraceuticals for physical activity and sports” and Director of the Master Course in Nutraceuticals, Nutritional Supplements, and Phytochemicals. She is a member of the PhD Program in Sport, Health, and Well-being. Her research interest covers the field of cellular and nutritional biochemistry, and the studies are focused on the protective/preventive role of bioactive components of the diet in the prevention/counteraction of chronic degenerative diseases as cardiovascular and neurodegenerative diseases. She is author of more than 100 papers in the field of cellular and nutritional biochemistry. She participated to national and international projects. She is an editorial board member of many the scientific journals in her field of interest
