Biography Christian Conficoni was born in 1983 in
Cesena. He received a Master Degree in Electronic Engineering, with
honors, from the University of Bologna in 2008. In December 2008 he
took the professional practice examination and achieved
the qualification to practice as an Electronic Engineer. In 2009 he
won a Research Grant at the Department of Electronics,
Computer and System Science (DEIS), in a collaboration with CRD
(Centro Ricerche Ducati, Ducati Energia) regarding "analysis and
implementation of a power factor correction system in
low voltage power networks for industrial industrial
environments".
In January 2010 he enrolled in the Automatica and Operational
Research Ph.D. program of the same University, and he received the
Ph.D. degree on April 12 2013 with a Thesis on non linear
constrained control techinques applied to power electronic and
electromechanical systems. Since 2013 he is a temporary research
fellow at the Department of Electrical, Electronic and
Information Engineering (DEI), University of Bologna.
Research Interests
The main current research activities include: Nonlinear
constrained control solutions and adaptive observers applied to
electric drives and power electronic systems oriented to
power quality enhancement in industrial networks, modeling (even
via advanced identification strategies) and energy-oriented
optimal/predictive control for thermal management of complex computing platforms, based on multicore and manycore processors.
