Curriculum vitae

Professor at the School of Literature and Cultural Heritage - Ravenna since 2016. He has conducted his research in the archeology of production with particular regard to the ceramic productions of pre-Roman Italy.

He is a member of the National Institute of Etruscan and Italic Studies, Etruria Padana section and northern Italy.

Among the main lines of scientific research is the study of Etruscan-Pama ceramic production that has led to the publication of a typological Atlas of the forms of this vascular production. In this field of research has also investigated the diffusion of Etruscan-Pama ceramic in neighboring territories, especially in the venetic world. He also deals with the development of ancient cities in pre-Romanesque Italy and Etruscan home architecture, finding a perfect study and research area in the Etruscan city of Kainua-Marzabotto, where the Etruscology Chair resumed his research in 1988 and where The undersigned has been involved in excavations continuously since 1988 to date. The knowledge of this Etruscan center has been the subject of the PRIN 2004, coordinated by Prof. G. Sassatelli, concluded with the full edition of House 1, in Regio IV-Insula 2. For this volume I undertook the study of ceramics Local production, a prelude to the monographic study of such materials.

He currently focuses his research on excavation and the subsequent study of the materials of important sacred areas of the Marzabotto Etruscan city which are being published.

Training

Degree in Letters, classical address, obtained on 19.07.1993 at the University of Bologna.

Degree thesis in Etruscology and Archeology Italica, entitled "Drainage Channels and Major Road Areas Marzabotto - Regio IV, Insula 2", House 1 ", Prof. Re G. Sassatelli.

Academic career

In 2002 he won the Alma Mater Studiorum University of Bologna Award for the recruitment of a unit of category D economic position 1 technical area, scientific technique and data processing with a fixed-term contract of 12 months , In charge of the archaeological material laboratory, at the Department of Archeology - Bologna and Ravenna. In 2003, the contract was renewed expiring on June 30, 2004.

In 2005 he won the Alma Mater Studiorum University of Bologna nominated for the recruitment of a unit of category D economic position 1 technical area, scientific technique and data processing with an indefinite term work contract, as Head of Materials Laboratory Archaeological, at the Department of Archeology - headquarters in Bologna and Ravenna.

Since 2016 he is a contract professor at the School of Arts and Humanities - Ravenna of the University of Bologna.


Teaching activity

From 2002 until today at the University of Bologna, Disci - Archeology Section, Bologna and Ravenna is responsible and coordinator of the Department of Materials Laboratory.

He is the holder of the following workshops attended by the graduates of the Triennale and Magistrale degree for the acquisition of 2 CFUs each:

- Drawing and Scheduling of Archaeological Materials

- Classical materials

He holds a laboratory attended by students of the School of Specialization in Archaeological Heritage for the acquisition of 5 CFUs entitled: "The study of archaeological materials: from excavation to publication (from 2002 to present).

In the academic year. 2014-2015 and A.A. 2015-2016 at the University of Bologna, DiSCI - Department of Archeology, headquartered in Bologna: collaborates with a series of lessons for a total of 10 hours held under the Course of Methodology of Archaeological Research, titular lecturer: Prof. Enrico Giorgi.


Scientific activity

He has participated in numerous excavation campaigns, including those in the Etruscan hamlet of Pontecagnano (Salerno), led by Prof. B. D'Agostino (Chair of Etruscology and Italian Archeology of the University of Naples "L'Orientale") and excavation in Celtic oppression of Bibracte (Mount Beuvray - France), directed by Prof. D. Vitali - Chair of Antiquity Celtics of the University of Bologna

Since 1988 he has been participating as a material manager at the excavations of the Etruscan town of Marzabotto, run by Professor G. Sassatelli and Prof. E. Govi - Chair of Etruscology and Archeology Italica of the University of Bologna.

In 2003 he participated as a speaker at the Conference: "Cults, urban form and crafts at Marzabotto: new perspectives of research. Acts of the study conference ".

In 2007 she participates as a rapporteur for a day of study on the problem of the ceramic typology held at the State University of Milan organized by Prof. Chiaramonte Trere.

On March 15, 2007, he participated as a reporter for a day of study, organized by Prof. M. Tosi, on the Project of the "Italian Archaeological Mission in Turkmenistan" entitled "The World of Erodon: where the West and the East meet "At the Department of Archeology at the University of Bologna. In January 2016 he collaborated on the organization of the conference: "The Etruscan city and the sacred. Sanctuaries and Political Institutions "at the Department of History of Culture Civilization, Aula Prodi, Bologna. The conference was the result of a three-year choral research of seven Italian universities following the funding of the 2010-2011 PRIN Project.

He has done didactic and promotional activity at the Archaeological Area and Etruscan National Museum "P. Aria "of the Etruscan city of Marzabotto, following the Convention between the Department of Archeology of the University of Bologna and the Archaeological Superintendence of Emilia Romagna, which was concluded in 2002 and still ongoing.

He has also been teaching at the Civic and Archaeological Museum of Bologna and at the Civic and Archaeological Museum "L. Fantini "of Monterenzio.

He has participated as a teacher at various upgrading courses for teachers of lower and upper secondary schools in collaboration with the Province of Bologna - Comune di Marzabotto; Various courses of cultural history education and training courses for excavation technicians for the matter of etruscology "at Techné" consortium for the professional training of Forlì and Cesena.

He has worked on the assembly, pre-cataloging, computerization and design of archaeological materials from the Villanovian phase necropolis of Verucchio (Rimini) in charge of the Superintendence for the Archaeological Heritage of Emilia Romagna; In 1993 he collaborated with the exhibition "The Gift of the Elves, Ambre and Oreficerie of the Etruscan Principles of Verucchio", at the Archaeological Civic Museum of Verucchio and in the years following the establishment of two new permanent sections of the Archaeological Civic Museum Verucchio.
