Short Bio

Bruno Riccio (Laurea Politics Bologna; MA DPhil Social Anthropology Sussex) is Associate Professor of Cultural Anthropology and the director of the recearch center MODI (Mobility Diversity social Inclusion) at the Department of Education of the University of Bologna where he teaches Cultural Anthropology and Anthropology of Migration. In 2014-2015 he was visitng Professor at the URMIS (Unité de Recherches Migrations et Société), Université de Paris 7 Diderot. He is co-founder of the Italian Society for Applied Anthropology (SIAA) and co-editor of the journal Antropologia Pubblica and the series "migrazioni" edited by CISU. He is also directing the Anthropological section of the series "Interculture" edited by Junior. Since 2014 he belongs to the teaching board of the doctoral programme in Cultural and Social Anthropology at the University of Milan "Bicocca". His research interests include West African transnational migration, co-development, citizenship, mobility, diversity, Italian multiculturalism and racism.
